Safety Precautions for DC High Voltage Generator Testing
The DC high voltage generator (abbreviated as DC high voltage generator) is an essential instrument required for conducting DC high voltage tests in specific situations. As it is a high-voltage power source, the voltage range typically varies from 60KV to 300KV, making safe operation extremely important. The staff using this instrument must be professionals holding a “High Voltage Test Certificate”.
If the “LOW BAT” indicator appears on the high-voltage shielding microammeter, please replace the 9V battery to avoid measurement errors.
For temporary on-site tests, set up a clear “High Voltage Hazard, Do Not Approach” sign and fence. For fixed high-voltage test areas, necessary interlock devices should also be installed.
During the test, the operator should reserve sufficient safe operating distance (less than 20KV per meter in the air).
Before the test, please check whether the main unit of the instrument, the voltage multiplier cylinder, and the test sample's grounding wire are properly connected. The grounding wire of the test circuit should be grounded at one point as per this manual.
When conducting a capacitive load test, a limiting resistor must be connected.
For the discharge of large-capacitance test samples, use a 100Ω/V discharge resistor rod to discharge the sample. Do not immediately touch the discharge rod to the sample; gradually approach the sample until the air gap begins to undergo ionization discharge with a hissing sound. When there is no sound, use the discharge rod to discharge, and finally connect it to the ground wire for discharge.
After the DC high voltage generator test is completed, the grounding wire must be hung at the high-voltage output end before removing the high-voltage lead.
When there are stains on the surface of the insulation cylinder of the voltage multiplier cylinder, please wipe them clean with a dry cloth. When transporting or not using the voltage multiplier cylinder, please put it in a box.
The working and storage places of this device should be free of gases, vapors, chemical dust, and other explosive and corrosive media that may affect insulation.
Do not place this instrument on unstable platforms or tables to prevent the instrument from falling and being damaged.
If the instrument is not used for a long time, please store it in a dry and ventilated place and power it on once a month.
